Create a product: Air Filter (Free Shipping)

This tutorial is geared for a merchant who is selling Air Conditioners and offers subscriptions for regular delivery of Air Filters.

In this example let's imagine you are an Air Conditioners and Air Filters merchant. One of the products you are selling is 'Air filter'. Let’s say you have a rule offering your customers to pick a FREE Shipping if the order amount is over $500, customer places his initial order buying Air Conditioner and subscribing to Air filters, the total order amount is $499.00 and the subscription is for $15.00 every month. Customer chooses FREE Shipping when placing the order, when the renewal takes place, the order is $15.00 and FREE shipping is no longer available with the default settings but you want to allow it for subscriptions.

 

Step-by-step guide:

One simple way to get this setup would be to create two simple products "Air Conditioner" (One-time Purchase Only) and “'Air filter“ (One-Time and Recurring) set up billing frequency monthly and one-in-two months. Also activate 'Honor Magento free shipping' option.

  1. Creating "Air Conditioner" product

  • Product Name: Air Conditioner

  • SKU: air-conditioner

  • Price: $499

 

2. Creating "Air Filter" product

  • Product Name: Air Filter

  • SKU: air-filter

  • Price: $15

  • At this point our basic product setup is complete

 

3. Setup Billing Frequency (how to set up a billing frequency)

  • Navigate to MPOWER - Configuration – Billing Frequency

  • Add new billing frequency (monthly and one-in-two months)

4. Activate the “Honor Magento free shipping” option

  • Navigate to Stores - Configuration - MPOWER - Subscriptions Profiles

  • Select ‘Honor Magento free shipping' from the 'Free Shipping’ drop down list

  • Save Config

 

5. Open previously created product (Air Filter) and Scroll down to the Subscription Options section and open it

  • Available For: set to "One-Time and Recurring"

  • Click on the ‘Manage’ button for opening Recurring Options Management

  • Step 1: Recurring Settings

Is Trial Offered - NO

Start Date - Moment of purchase

Lock Product Price - YES

Offer Flat Discount - NO

  • Step 2: Billing Frequencies - Click on Add New button three times and select correspond Billing Frequency (monthly and one-in-two months)

  • Step 3: Summary

  • Click Next and Save

  • At this point basic configuration of a subscription is done

 

RESULT:

Place an initial order buying Air Conditioner and subscribing to Air filters, Free Shipping is available

 

 

Estimate payment for next shipping is FREE, Magento order minimum setting is ignored
