Create a product: Shaving & Grooming Set (Trial offered)

This tutorial is geared for a merchant who is selling Shaving & Grooming Sets subscriptions with a trial period

In this example let's imagine you are a shaving & grooming merchant. One of the products you are selling is a Shaving set and you offer a trial version with discount

We want to allow once-in-two months (for shaves 5 or more days per week) subscriptions to this product, once-in-three months (shaves 3–4 days per week), and once-in-fifth months (shaves 2 or fewer days per week)

 

Step-by-step guide:

One simple way to get this setup would be to create a simple product "Shaving set" and set up billing frequency once in two months, once in three months, and once-in-fifth months

  1. Creating "Shaving set" product

  • Product Name: Shaving set

  • SKU: shaving-set

  • Price: $19

  • At this point our basic product setup is complete

2. Setup Billing Frequency (how to set up a billing frequency)

  • Navigate to MPOWER - Configuration – Billing Frequency

  • Add new billing frequency (once-in-two months, once in three months, and once-in-fifth months)

3. Open previously created product. Scroll down to the Subscription Options section and open it

  • Available For: set to "Recurring Purchase only", since we don’t want this product to be purchased as a one-off

  • Click on the ‘Manage’ button for opening Recurring Options Management

  • Step 1: Recurring Settings

Is Trial Offered - YES

Trial Can Be Skipped - NO

Trial Length - 1 Month

Trial Price - 9$

Trial Start Date - Moment of purchase

Lock Product Price - NO

  • Step 2: Billing Frequencies - Click on Add New button three times and select correspond Billing Frequency (once-in-two months, once in three months, and once-in-fifth months)

Provide a price for subscription according to billing frequency: once-in-two months - 17$, once in three months - 18$, and once-in-fifth months - 19$

  • Step 3: Summary - A 1 Month Trial for $9.00 will be offered and it will start at the moment of purchase.

  • Click Next and Save

  • At this point basic configuration of a subscription is done

 

 

 

 

RESULT:

“Shaving set“ product is available with a discount for a trial period

 

 

After placing an order 'Trial' status is displayed in the customer account information
